Late lead slips away in ASU baseball opener

Arizona State baseball coach Tim Esmay knew he was taking a bit of a gamble when he moved sophomore Ryan Burr into the starting rotation this season.
Burr was lights-out as a closer last year, recording 12 saves with a 2.20 ERA. But Esmay thought Burr had the stuff and mentality to be a No. 1 starter, and he hoped he could find a suitable replacement for the ninth inning.
