Defenseman Keith Yandle keeps puck, Phoenix Coyotes in position for power-play goals

It isn’t a recognized statistic in NHL circles, but if the number of times a player kept a puck in at the offensive blue line — especially on the power play — was tracked, Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle would likely be among the leaders in that category.
“You see power plays all the time where a team has a chance to clear the puck and then doesn’t,” coach Dave Tippett said. “A lot of those times it comes back to bite you, maybe not a goal but in a chance. Keith has done a good job. I can think of a handful of times this year where he’s made a good save on the blue line, and it’s turned into a goal for us.”
